A VISIT TO A UP VILLAGE - CHILD LABOUR WITH USUAL BUSINESS EVEN ON THE NEW YEAR DAY

Adv Ashok Agarwal on his visit to one of the U.P. villages, namely, Sarai Ghasi, Sikanderabad, U.P. (65 kms from Delhi) on Janurary 01, 2015 found over 100 children as child laborers (Children below 14 yrs of age) engaged in one of the Brick kilns industry.Child Labour is prohibited in the Brick kilns processes under the provisions of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986. These children are with their parents who are migrated to this place for nearly 6 months. A family gets Rs. 450/- for 1000 Bricks. There are nearly 70 such families. All these children are not attending any school. It is a mockery of our Constitution which guarantee right to education as a fundamental right to every child.
