A visit to A UP village - Mockery of the Righ to Education Act, 2009

In Saraighasi village, Distt. Bulandshahar, U.P., there are two government primary schools and one government-aided inter-college (Class VI-XII).
About 200-250 children are enrolled in the two primary schools. there is no boundary wall, no electricity-connection, no chairs, no drinking water-arrangement, no toilet in either of the two primary schools. cattle can be seen in the vicinity of the school building.
In the inter-college, some 600 students are enrolled. There is an option for science stream, but no science lab. It is heard that there are computers but they are stated to have been kept safely locked inside some secret room. anyway, there is no computer-teacher. there is no electricity and no desks in the classrooms. windows are broken and dilapidated.
Overall, there is no conducive atmosphere for education in these institutions
